Our career change dogs are washed from our program for different reasons. CSDA will give full disclosure as to why these dogs were washed in order to make sure they are matched with their perfect forever home. Each dog does have an adoption fee that will depend on the dog, their behavior, and their training level.
**Our career change dogs are to be adopted as family pets ONLY, not as potential service dogs.

Name: Balto
Age: 2 years old Neutered Hi! My name is Balto! Balto is a very gentle and sweet dog. He is definitely mellow for a Husky. He is very affectionate and will make a great best friend for People of all ages! Balto was selected as a service dog candidate because he does have such a wonderful demeanor. He, unfortunately, was not able to progress due to Reactivity to Cats and Lack of Drive. Because he is so gentle, he would make a wonderful companion for an older person. He is great with dogs of all sixes, but no cats. Balto will sometimes resource guard toys from other dogs, so if you have another dog, offering them toys separately will be important.. Unless supervised for training purposes. He plays regularly with a group of 5 dogs, and other than when toys are involved, Balto interacts very well with them! He has not caused any injury to dogs, but displays vocalizations and distance creating charges to guard his toys. He has not shown any resource guarding behaviors with people, but always be cautious with new dogs, especially around children, regardless of the dogs background. Balto is a naturally thin dog who likes to graze his meals, and does not usually finish it in one sitting… more like 3. If he is adopted into a multi dog household, he will need to be fed in his crate, and allowed access to it at least a few times a day. Anyone would be lucky to have a dog like Balto! He is the absolute sweetest, snuggliest husky. You will be wowed by how gentile he really is for a dog his size, when you meet him. |
Name: Akio
Age: 3 years old Neutered Hi! My name is Akio! Akio is a wonderful and intelligent dog who was well on his way to becoming a service dog. Unfortunately, his relationship with cats held him back. Unable to get over his prey drive when it comes to kitties, we were forced to remove this star child from our program. Akio is good commands like come, sit, down, stay, look, leave it and is even familiar with navigating around walkers and wheelchairs. His leash walking is excellent, until he sees a cat. Therefore, if he is adopted by a person with disabilities, be sure to have a plan when walking him outside, as his reactivity to cats can pose a risk. Due to this risk, Akio has failed his public access test and will not be able to access anywhere a regular pet dog cannot. He does love outings in pet friendly places, but please evaluate your ability to control a reactive dog before attempting to take him places. Akio is friendly with people of all ages, he loves affection and loves playing ball! Akio is very good with other dogs of all sizes! He is a very charming dog and will make a great addition to a family home. |
